Off-Lead Fields in Cardiff
Want to find the best off lead fields in Cardiff? Then you’ve come to the right place!
Collar Club Cardiff
Collar Club have two dog fields which can be hired, found next to the Beech Tree Inn in Wenvoe, just behind Culverhouse Cross. The fields are fully fenced, allowing your dog to run free without worrying about them escaping. It’s perfect for practising recall or for nervous or reactive dogs. Prices start from £10 for 50 minutes.
There are even social sessions for dogs to play with others. They generally run on weekends at 9am for 45 minutes and are £6.50 (one car, up to two dogs). All bookings can be made online.

Vale View Dog Playing Field
The 7-acre private park is in Pentyrch. It’s a peaceful part of the city, and your dogs can play, walk or exercise off lead in this great-sized field. Vale View Dog Field opening hours are Monday to Sunday between 7am and 7pm. It’s super easy to book online; you select your date, time, duration and number of dogs. Prices start from £5.50 for 30 minutes, which you can book online.

Cardiff Gate Secure Dog Field Hire
The secure fields in Cardiff Gate are ideal for training or letting your dog have fun off lead. It’s a lovely place to walk your dog, with agility equipment. (I haven’t seen this myself, but) a few reviews mention a bit of floodlighting in the evening so you can enjoy the field during the winter months. Prices start from £5.50 for 30 minutes, and you can book online.

Free Off Lead Fields in Cardiff
There aren’t any free off lead fields in Cardiff; however, we regularly go to Ynysangharad War Memorial Park in Pontypridd. It’s only a 15-minute drive from Whitchurch. We park in Gas Road Car Park (near the Gatto Lounge), which is free after 3pm – double check the sign when you park up. Head over the bridge into the park. The secure field is by the tennis courts. There’s no need to pre-book; it’s always open.

Wern Isaf Secure Dog Walking Field
There are three fields with secure fencing. Wern Isaf consistently get 5-star ratings from those who book the service. The fields called Three Beeches, The Oaks and The Meadows also get recommended for being safe, clean and well-maintained. Book online; prices start from £8 for an hour.

Just outside Bridgend is Dogz Unleashed Freedom Field, where you can hire an enclosed dog walking field. The owners have seven dogs themselves, including rescues, so they know all about the different quirks and personalities our dogs can have. The fully enclosed paddock is 2 acres and can be booked online for exclusive use for 60 minutes from £12.

Cwtch Animal Homestay
The purpose-built secure Dog Adventure and Sensory Parks at Cwtch Animal Homestay are safe, stimulating and enriching for you and your dog. You can do it all here if your dog lacks recall, is nervous or reactive, or wants space to exercise off lead. The two fields have coded gate systems, separate car parks and staggered times – they’ve thought of everything! Prices start from £15 per session, and you can book online.

Known as The Sanctuary, All Creatures Great and Small has a large dog field that can be hired for 30-minute intervals. It costs £5 for 30 minutes, and you can let your dog off the lead knowing it’s secure. Bookings can be made online.

Hope Rescue
You can now book online for the private use of Hope Rescue’s training paddock, complete with dog-proof fencing, so you know it’s secure. Sessions are 30 minutes and cost £5. As a charity, the fee you pay to Hope Rescue goes towards the care they give to stray and abandoned dogs in South Wales.
