It’s no wonder this is one of the favourite spots in town.
Dogs are more than welcome, so we ate in here. Trying the towing 12oz Texas Bacon Burger with two beef patties, smoky streaky bacon, melted Swiss Emmental, and tangy BBQ sauce in a floured bap with fresh leaf garnish. However, the dish that truly stole the spotlight was Harry’s Sticky Chilli Beef. This Chinese-inspired featured tender beef strips enveloped in a luscious sticky chilli sauce that really packed a punch.

Fairway Buoy
Located near Westward Ho!, Fairway Buoy is a hidden gem that welcomes both guests and dogs. While they don’t serve meals, you can order snacks and cakes to enjoy in their relaxed outdoor seating area, perfect for soaking up the sea views and catching the sunset. The pub’s laid-back atmosphere makes it easy to sit back, sip a cold drink, and watch the world go by with your furry friend by your side.
We stopped here to watch the Six Nations. Live sports are popular here; you can watch football and other tournaments on TV. There’s also live music, DJs and entertainment evenings.

The Village Inn
Just a stone’s throw from the beach, The Village Inn offers a relaxed atmosphere and fantastic food that your dog is sure to enjoy alongside you. The pub has a beer garden, ideal for soaking up some sunshine. Whether you’re popping in for a quick drink or enjoying a leisurely meal, it’s an excellent spot for both families and dog owners alike.
The Village Inn Westward Ho Menu is often highly praised, serving beer-battered fish and chips, lasagne, steak, Westcountry faggots, liver and bacon, or more modern dishes like bang bang cauliflower, nachos and sizzling fajitas.

The bar serves a great selection of drinks, and the menu features smaller plates of pub classics, sandwiches, flatbreads, burgers, dirty fries, and salad bowls. The staff and other guests are always friendly towards dogs, and the cosy seating creates a relaxed atmosphere, allowing you to enjoy a well-deserved drink while your dog enjoys the attention.
We stopped in here after a walk on the beach and along The Prom, sitting in the external conservatory area. Not that we needed it, but there’s a dog wash – free to use – beside the bar if you need to tidy up any muddy or sandy paws.

The Pier House
If you’re looking for the best dog friendly pubs Westward Ho with a view, The Pier House should be your first stop. Overlooking the beautiful North Devon coastline and Lundy Island offers you a chilled afternoon with your do. From breakfast through to dinner, the menu is varied. The sun terrace is perfect for cocktails in the sunshine. It is a popular destination for the family to celebrate special occasions.
The Pier House has an interesting history; originally a private house called Merley House. It was built in 1885. During World War II, the property was used as a base for soldiers. In January 2023, angry ghosts were blamed for a fire (caused by an electrical fault) that required millions of pounds of restoration.
