We stayed at The Bell Broadway. With a king-size bed with Egyptian cotton sheets, it felt like a luxury. There was a rainforest shower, a Smart TV, and glorious garden views. The best part? It’s pet-friendly, and no additional charges for Ivan to stay. Additionally, with free parking, free WiFi, and a checkout time of 11:00 am, it was a perfect countryside retreat. Breakfast was included and was top-notch as well.
Exmoor National Park

Every room has been meticulously designed for comfort and relaxation, ensuring a peaceful and enjoyable stay. Plus, there’s free parking and free WiFi in a prime location.
Ilfracombe
With dramatic cliffs, a bustling harbour, and a touch of arty quirkiness, Ilfracombe is full of seaside spirit. Dilkhusa Grand Hotel by Compass Hospitality
We stayed at the Dilkhusa Grand Hotel in Ilfracombe, which is in the best location for easy access to the town’s attractions, beaches, and scenic coastal walks. The hotel offers a comfortable stay with its spacious rooms, though the décor leans towards a more rustic style. Despite this, the rooms are well-equipped and quiet. Ivan was truly fussed over by the team and loved having so much space in the room.
Teignmouth
Down on the South Devon coast, Teignmouth is the quintessential seaside town. Expect sandy beaches, traditional amusements, and a cheerful promenade perfect for dog walks. The town is brimming with cute cafés and pubs that welcome waggy-tailed visitors, making it a lovely option for a spontaneous seaside escape.
Cliffden Hotel Teignmouth
The Cliffden Hotel boasts rustic charm, comfortable bedrooms, free WiFi, free parking, beautiful gardens with an off-lead paddock for dogs to run around, and a swimming pool. The hotel’s prime location makes exploring the town centre, local cafés, pubs and restaurants easy. Dogs are even welcome in the breakfast room!
Plymouth

Want to wake up with views of the harbour and be steps from the castle? We stayed at the Ship and Castle Hotel, which offers dog-friendly rooms with serious sea-view perks. We were upgraded to a balcony room overlooking the harbour – Ivan absolutely loved people-watching and boat-spotting from his new favourite spot. The room was clean and modern, and he had space for his bed and bowls, plus essentials like a coffee pod machine and good WiFi. Parking’s easy too, with a nearby pay-and-display just a minute away (only £6 for 24 hours).
Looe
This lively fishing town boasts a sandy beach, cobbled streets, and an abundance of seafood. Stay in one of the many cheap last minute dog friendly holidays options here and enjoy clifftop walks followed by fresh fish and chips (your pup might insist on sharing!).
